The Puppy Foundation Course

The Puppy Foundation Course is currently being taken by Ann. 

The course runs for 6 weeks and we initially spend quite a bit of time letting the puppies get accustomed to their new surroundings and the strange environment.

We often have people who have had no previous experience of dog ownership and ensure puppies have suitable collars and leads as well as name tags on their collars. We also try to get everyone into the habit of carrying a ‘pooh bag’ with them everywhere they go with their dog.

We also concentrate on letting the puppies get to know the other puppies and owners. We work at no set pace and try to make the classes as enjoyable as possible. We believe greatly - especially with puppies - in using food treats as rewards - the tastier the better! as well as lots and lots of praise.  We try and get the puppies walking nicely on their leads as well as learning basic commands and having fun with their handlers. 

We try to encourage you to train little and often with your puppy - we can easily spot the people who have done as we have asked!!
