Hi,

My name is Kelly. I joined Seaford Dog club in 1992 as a junior handler, training our first Golden Retriever Megan. Although quite obedient, she never really enjoyed training as she didn’t really enjoy doggie company. She was a people person!!

However, my experience changed when Mollie arrived to live with us. Neither have I nor ever will have I’m sure have such an enjoyable and easy dog to train.

She still does attend the club but only for the ‘fun’ things now. For example the local dog demonstrations and the Christmas parties etc. She is now 13 and enjoying a more relaxed way of life!!

In 2005 I took the plunge and bought my own Goldie - ‘Jaffa’ to live with me and my young family.  He is exceptionally handsome, lovable and kind but has been a challenge to train to say the least!  With his exuberant personality and his ambition to be the class joker we have had many obstacles to overcome. Mainly his well know laps of honour round the hall!! However, due to a lot of hard work on both our parts we have achieved the Bronze and Silver awards and are taking our Gold shortly.

I started training the puppy class with my mum Ann after graduating with Jaffa and am enjoying using my experiences both good and bad to help others achieve their training goals.

In August 2008 I bought another puppy, this time a Cairn Terrier!  she is very different to our Goldies and quite a challenge to train.

In May 2009 I started to take the Puppy courses on my own as mum is now taking a Bronze course.

I shall be taking a break from training after my course ending in October as I have gone back to College and am finding it difficult to commit to the club at the moment.
