Health Matters

01/10/07 - It has been brought to our attention that there is an outbreak of Kennel Cough in the area.  Please click on link above if you do not know about the infection - it is extremely contagious and on no account should dogs be taken out either walking or to Club when they are infected.

                   Sweet Corn

                 sweet corn

In an article this week (21/09/07) in Dog World - the husks of Sweet Corn are extremely dangerous to dogs. Apparently they are not able to digest them and this can prove to be fatal - so please make sure you dispose of husks safely.

                       Attention all Gardeners

             mulch

Cocoa Bean mulch - did you know that this is highly toxic to your dog? It contains a high level of theobromine - this is the same toxin as in chocolate which is also dangerous to our dogs.  So please do not use this type of mulch on your garden - it appears many dogs have died from eating this mulch - I believe it smells just like chocolate and therefore very tempting to our animals.
