Hi! I’m Flo Hawthorne and I started as a trainer by helping Anne Barrett with her early bronze class. I started training the Silver class in May 2009.
I grew up on a farm in Norfolk but we didn’t have a dog and all my pleading fell on deaf ears. Then I married, had children and at last could get my wish.
I’ve had a dog for more than 25 years, starting with a Cocker Spaniel bitch, then a Lab Springer cross and finally our current dog a pedigree Labrador “Henry” who has proved to be something of a challenge. It would be fair to say that without the help of the trainers I would probably have thrown in the towel long ago, but they encouraged me to stick with it and we are making headway (not sure Henry sees it that way though).
I really love dogs and Henry and I enjoy the numerous walks in this beautiful area, especially Friston Forest and any muddy, smelly, wet places that Henry can persuade me to take him .
As one of the newest trainers I’m still learning myself, but if I can’t help you there are always experienced trainers who are on hand to help and advise.
I hope my experience with Henry and the help I’ve had from other trainers can be passed on and help you to enjoy your dog.
