Hi, my name is Donna. I live in Newhaven with my husband Robert ( who loves and supports me despite my passionate behaviour about dogs) and my two children Ashley and Kayley.
I became interested in dogs about 3 years ago, whilst being a cat mad person. I currently own two Tibetan Mastiffs (Tobey and Steffi) and a Papillion called Angel. Tibetan Mastiffs are a rare breed of dog and as their name suggests they come from Tibet.
I became involved in the club when I was looking for a club to train my Tibetan Mastiffs. I found the club to be a very good place to train dogs, the people are committed and it is also a good social place for people with dogs. Tobey has gained his Bronze and Steffi her Silver I am currently training them to advance through to Gold.
I started as a helper to one of the other trainers Gill Martin and consequently became a trainer of the 4.30pm bronze class myself. I am currently studying OCN Advanced Dog Behaviour at Plumption College and would like to become a dog behavourist as well as a dog trainer. I have also had experience with many different kinds of dogs and problems and if I don't know what to do, I can find someone who does. I also show my dogs Tobey and Steffi who have qualified for Crufts 09 and I am hoping to start showing Angel in the New Year as she is still too young to be shown at the moment. I am also a qualified counselor and have achieved a diploma in advanced counselling.
The club is a fun place for for us adults and our four legged friends and we do more than just train our dogs we have fun too!! We use only kind methods of training and I am interested in the whole well being of the owner with their dogs and not just the dogs problems.
