Training Classes

Seaford & District Dog Training Club is part of the largest dog training scheme in the U.K. - The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme.

Our aims are to promote responsible dog ownership and to ensure our dogs are a credit to our community and not a nuisance to anyone. We want our dogs to be socially acceptable to both people and other dogs. So socialisation is a very important part of our training.

At the Club we currently run a Puppy Foundation Course, 3 courses for the Bronze Award and a course for both the Silver and Gold Awards. We also have a late class for those who have passed their Gold Award and wish to continue to come to the Club for various reasons - mainly the dog’s social life! As from January 2008, we shall be holding 2 Puppy Foundation Courses to cater for the larger number of young dogs we have in the area. Our Training Classes are held at the Scout Hut on The Salts Recreation Ground, Seaford on a Monday night..

Before the courses start for the Puppy and Bronze classes, a Registration Session is held where a brief explanation of what we hope to achieve is explained and you are able to meet the trainers. It is at these sessions that we check that dogs have had their vaccinations. No puppy/dog will be allowed to start the course without completing their full course of inoculations.

Further details of each course are listed below;-

All classes are held on a Monday evening in the Scout Hut at The Salts

We train using praise and treats as rewards - we urge you to bring something ‘tasty and special’ as treats - please click here for some recipes
