Ann

Hello

My name is Ann and I have been a member of the Club for 20 nearly years when we bought our first family dog - a Golden Retriever called Megan. When Megan was 5 we bought another Retriever puppy - Mollie and she also came to classes and often my daughter trained her. Mollie was an absolute dream to train as she was part working Retriever. We later had a litter of puppies from Mollie and kept a bitch - Ellie-May who also joined the club as soon as she was able to. 15 months later Mollie had another litter and we again kept a puppy - Sophie. Both of these girls did extremely well at the Club and have achieved the Gold Award.

About 6 years ago now, I was asked to help out when trainers went away on holiday and unable to take their class. From there I was also asked to join the Committee and 3 years ago I was approached to take the Puppy Class. Initially, Liza from the Graduates Class helped me out - we had a great time working with all the lovely puppies in our classes. But due to family commitments and the time involved in helping out etc, Liza stepped down and my daughter Kelly helped out for a while. In the Autumn term 2008, I will be taking a break from taking classes. We were hoping that we would have another puppy in the household and wanted to be able to spend quality time in training her. Unfortunately Ellie didn’t give us a show quality bitch in her litter this year so we are puppy-less but enjoying the break from the puppy training classes. In January 2009, I will be back taking both puppy classes again - at 5.15pm & 5.45pm.

Kelly and I currently have 6 Golden Retrievers between us - 2 daughters of my foundation bitch Mollie, Ellie-May and Sophie, Mia from Sophie’s 2006 litter, (Tilly from Ellies first litter in March 2007 - sadly passed away in August 2008), Maisie who is from Sophie’s litter also in March 2007 and a puppy Tizzie who was born in April 2010. Kelly also has Jaffa - a very handsome young man who is available to be used at stud for approved bitches only as well as Missy, a Cairn Terrier.

In recent years Mia and Maisie have also achieved  their Gold Awards. Tizzie is now in the Gold Class. She also attends Ringcraft classes as we do go to the occasional show together.

In December 2011, we welcomed a new puppy into the family, yet another Golden Retriever named Florentia who, while will attend obedience has primarily been bought as a show puppy, time will tell...

I am passionate about the health and welfare of all new puppies and am always available for you to discuss your puppy or help with finding you one. I can offer advice on feeding, general care and behaviour as well as training issues etc.

Owing to having a new puppy myself, I will be taking a break from taking the Puppy Classes.
